News: Schreyer to take on Hyundai design too
Peter Shreyer, the man behind the design revolution at Kia over the past five years, has just been handed the scribbling reins at Hyundai too.
Schreyer, who stunned the world when he moved from Audi to Kia, has had virtually a free hand when it comes to the design of all current Kia models and his classy family look has been instrumental in Kia's recent runaway success. So much so that Schreyer was last week made a president of the Kia corporation, an unheard of honour for a westerner in the Byzantine world of Korean business.
Now, on the eve of the Detroit Motor Show, Schreyer has been appointed as a had of design for Hyundai in addition to his continuing duties at Kia. The move is seen as a response to Kia's perceived lead over its parent brand in design and styling terms.
